Yesterday me, Sadie, Katya, and Kelsie hung out. We walked to Sonic to get slushies half-off, because it was happy hour. I got grape, Katya got Lemon berry, and I can’t remember what Sadie and Kelsie got. After that, we walked back to her house and hung out in her room. And let me tell you, she’s obsessed with Jacob! (well, aren’t we all??) I read a dear dumb diary book, while they looked through another book. Did you know that there’s an Appreciate Women day?
We tried to upload the photos we took of the new library for the SJH Underground website (remember?) but it wouldn’t work.
Sadie showed us a bunch of funny videos, called balloon shop. They never get old!
She had to leave at 5:30, so me, kelsie, and katya played Guess who. It was really fun, because its a two player game. So whoever was currently sitting out got to pick the people for the other too. Then after we played, we decided what guys we thought were cute and what guys were totally creepy in the game! If you’ve played guess who, you’ll agree with me in saying that the justin guy is cute, but he looks too arrogant and mean to be really liked.
Katya’s mom drove us home at 6:30, and we saw a deer! It was awesome.
Well, thats what we did. And I’ve got to go teach maddy school, so see ya!

I’ve been tutoring Maddy over the summer… 2 hours a day on weekdays including 2 15 min. recesses every day. I’m earning $2 dollars an hour…. so yes, I am making quite a living! Its good because I need to save up more money to go visit TN… I’ve been wanting to visit there ever since I moved away.
Every day we have writing first, then an extra subject, then reading last. The extra subjects are(in order of which one happens first in the week): Art, Science, Math, History, and Art again on Friday.
We’re doing pretty good so far, I’ve only missed about 3 or 4 days. (2 were because of going camping) But today, Elizabeth and Avery(cousins) slept over, and Maddy did NOT want to do school-she wanted to play with Avery. So I offered just having all the subjects be 15 minutes today, instead of a half an hour. (Which would make writing only have 5 minutes left… and she hadn’t even gotten past writing her name and the date yet) well, she wouldn’t even listen to me and just kept crying and saying she wanted to play with Avery. So then Ella comes in and thinks that I’M the one thats making her cry-so she calls my mom and tells her that I’m being a big jerk to maddy and yelling at her. Then Griffin takes maddy and locks her in the bathroom and tells her she can come out when she stops crying, then I talk on the phone with mom and tell her what had happened. (very complicated-isn’t it??) Then mom talks to maddy, then maddy comes out of the bathroom and says that mom said she could do 5 minutes of writing and then go play. So I have her write the uppercase and lowercase alphabet, then she goes and plays.
Well guess what? My mom gets home and I tell her that I had a really productive day of teaching school for 5 min. So then she tells me that she told maddy that she had to FINISH school, and THEN she could go play. So there’s maddy for you!
I kinda have to thank her though… it felt good to not have the strain of school for one day. Ironic, huh!

Planning Family home evening today… I’m teaching my family about Jacob(or Israel) and his family… you know, his sons are the 12 tribes of Israel. Did you know that he had a daughter named Dinah, and she’s only mentioned once in the whole Scriptures? Now that’s an example of the fact that men all think that they’re the best and women are weak and defenseless. Well, I have something to say to you guys: Have you ever heard of Joan of Arc? How about Harriet Tubman, who led like 500 slaves to freedom?
Ok, I’m going off topic. So anyways, FHE is going to be all thrown together, so Idk if it will be good at all. But hopefully my family will learn SOMETHING. well, i gotta go. I’ll tell ya how it goes!

Me and my friends are making an online newspaper for Springville Jr High School! (You can thank my dad for the idea..) The name of the website is sjhsUnderground, because it’s going to be a student-controlled website, not a teacher controlled website. A free press!
Yesterday, me, Aimee, and Sadie came up with a BUNCH of really good ideas for the newspaper. We want to have a weekly poll and a weekly quiz, a new post everyday, an email just for the website, something that tells us how many people are currently on or have been on that day, photo contests(cutest, funniest, weirdest, most nature-like..etc), we also want to interview our new principle. The kind of things we’ll be asking him will be like this,”What’s your fave color? What’s your fave flavor of ice cream? Can you do the worm?” and lots of others.
Another thing we think would be fun to do is have something that says what we’re having for lunch every day, and what we WISH we were having for lunch. (aka Today, one of the lunch choices is grilled cheese-but we wish it was grilled chicken.)
For one of our contests, we want to do skits/plays. People could make skits about a certain topic that we say is for that week, and submit them. We’d give out awards for most dramatic, funniest, most organized, most tragedy, most romantic, most academic, most on-purpose-pathetic, best moral, best director, best fantasy, best actress/actor, most participants, and anything else we think of. A lot of awards, huh!
We’re not sure about this, but we were thinking maybe to have a daily joke/riddle. People could submit them to us to show, or we could come up with them our selves. We might also substitute the daily joke for a poem that someone did every once in a while.

We want to make a list of all the disgusting icecream flavors we can make up, and other people can send in icecream flavors that they make up. And every week on Friday, we want to have a double poll. The added on poll will be a gross ice cream poll, and each week we’ll have 4 different flavors on the poll. Also, for the post on friday, we could talk about the results of past icecream polls.

Well, I guess thats all. I can’t put the quizzes on here, because that would make it the longest post in the history of history. Maybe I will on a different post-once we figure out how to do the results of the quiz.
We’re going to be perfecting this during the rest of the summer, so we might take away some of the things i put on here, and we might add some. But you’ll have to wait to see until the school year starts again!

So last week, we did our program. Finally! We’ve all been practicing forEVER. Even though a lot of the songs were stupid and boring, i think doing the program was really fun at parts.
My fave parts:
-the dr. suess song…. the only reason i liked it was because i had a speaking part in it.
-the song from Grease, We go together. We did a partner dance in it. I was with Keaton… (!) even though it was really akward, i think it was kinda fun.
-getting our diplomas afterwards!!!! Yep, we graduated from 6th grade… even though school doesn’t end until next week. Tou and Ricky Moala got these really cool candy necklaces… I made Tou give me some of his candy…
-going to Sonic and getting shakes after! Jentry’s family went there the same time me and mom did. It was funny.
-THE FOOTLOOSE DANCE WAS SOOOOO FUN AND AWESOME!!!!! It’s the last thing we did in our program…. and now we’re never going to do it again! Ehmo and Tiana were the best dancers, in my opinion. Well, in everyones opinion!
-getting all dressed up for it… well, that was fun too. I blow-dryed my hair, and wore my purple zip-up shirt with my white jacket thingy over it. Then I just wore my jean capris. I also got to wear make-up! Tons of people told me I was pretty… I felt so special! (not ed…)
Well, all in all, it was awesome. I’m sad it’s over. And thats me signing off again!

This is just about what I did yesterday, because obviously I did a lot of fun stuff or I wouldn’t be writing about it.
So in music class in school, we learned about swan lake and make origami swans. (Or started to.. we’re finishing next time.)
After school, me and Ella walked down to the Book Fair at our school. I got this cool Coke or Pepsi book, where you fill out one page per day and it takes you a whole year to fill out. The things on the pages are just like things about you and stuff. Its really fun! I also got a pencil to go with it, and ella got a mini notebook-for her “Thankful journal” or so she tells me.
Aimee and Jessica came to meet us there, then they bought some stuff and we left. We didn’t go home though, we went to Hollywood Videos! We were going to rent a movie to watch during our latenight.
We were originally going to just look for Footloose and Newsies, but they didn’t have newsies and we couldn’t find footloose, so I suggested Blades of Glory. We decided to get that, and Footloose (Ella had found it!).
On our way to drop ella off at home, we almost ran into a deer in the middle of the road! It was WAY scary and we were all screaming our heads off, even Aimee’s mom.
So then we decided to watch Blades of Glory last night, and Footloose today. (Theres no school today.. yesterday was the end of term!) Well, we should have looked more closely at the back of Blades of Glory. It was kinda bad! Aimee’s parents were with us though and they just skipped through the bad parts. Even though it was a weird movie, it was HILARIOUS! It’s about these two famous guy skaters, who tie for the world championship. When they are on the awards stand, the get into a fist fight and are stripped of their trophy and are banned from mens single skating forever. But they find a loophole! They can skate in PAIRS. One of their coaches convinces them to go together as an iceskating pair… because he wants to teach them an iceskating trick that no one has ever achieved before because… (their heads always get sliced off by accident) Its a really funny movie!
When I got home, It was time for bed. I can’t wait until we watch footloose today! It sounds really good.. its about people dancing. Plus-it was filmed here in Utah! Oh yeah!
Well, that was yesterday, and this is today. So I gotta go!

Yesterday was Dr. Suess Day in my school, its where we celebrate dr. suess by reading all day and also do other fun activities. We were allowed to bring snacks (healthy ones, though no one listened) we could also bring pillows and blankets and wear pjs if we wanted.
The beginning of the day, before lunch, was where the 6th grade did our stations. My class’s first station was in our class, and we watched a half hour of horton hears a who. It was funny! Everyone loved the little fluffy kid in it, called katie. She’s the one that says,”In my world, Unicorns eat rainbows and poop butterflys!” We all laughed at that one.
We played bingo in Miss Perkins room after that, and I got candy! The bingo was based on dr. suess books and movies.
After that, we went to an assembly, because we were going to count up the money that our school had saved up to “HELP HAITI!” I was surprised by how much some of the classes had saved up. Over all, our total was….. (drumroll here please)

We did more stations after the assembly, where we made hats from cat in the hat, and went on the suessville website.
After lunch was the readathon!!!! YA!!!! We set up our blankets and pillows, got our snacks out, and our books. Mrs. Huffaker told us the rules, (NO talking, as usual. We talked anyway.) A little into it, we realized that Tou (a kid in my class) had fallen asleep. He was laying under the desks, with his head peeking out and a book propped up so it looked like he was reading. Everyone kept looking at him and laughing! Every now and then he would wake up and switch books.
I finished the book that I was reading, called Alcatraz vs. the evil librarians. It was awesome! I laughed at something it said on almost every page. The author definetly had a sense of humor! The book was about a kid named alcatraz. On his 13th b-day, he gets a package in the mail from his parents. (he is an orphan) In it is a bag of sand. Soon, it is stolen and his “grandpa” appears and tells him that the evil librarians took it. He finds out that breaking things is his talent (all his life, everything he touched broke) just like his grandpas talent is being late. They have to sneak into the library, and steal it back! I won’t spoil it for you by telling you the end, but its a great book!
So anyways, I finished that book and had nothing to read, so I just secretly talked with my friends and ate snacks.
That whole day we did NO schoolwork whatsoever! It was so awesome.
After school I had play practice… but I don’t want to “wonder off topic” (as my teacher says it) so I’m not gonna talk about it.
And thats the end of this post!

Last week, my whole grade went on a field trip to the wilkenson center, for the World festival. There, you get a (fake) passport, and there are booths set up all over the place that you visit. They are about different countries/places in the world! In some places,(like Japan, Israel, China) they can write your name in a different language. Usually on a paper, but a lot of people got there names written on their arms! (including me) At one of my favorite booths, the BYU student presenting it showed me how to say “How are you?” in his language!
My group was me, Sadie, Tehya, Nate, Tou, and Erica. We had a lot of fun walking around the booths!
There was one booth(I can’t remember which country) that had a TV on, showing a rugby game. It looked REALLY painful! Also at that booth, they were doing face-painting. Both me and Erica got peace signs on our faces! It was funny.
After we walked around all the booths, we had lunch, and then went back inside to watch some presentations. The first one was some people singing and doing a Flamenco(spelling?) dance, and after them, some people played keltic music. After that, was (i think) the best one there! A chinese dancing group performed AWESOMELY…… but there was also a cool dance done by a 6 time world champion kungfu guy…. plus he got extra points from me cause he let people break boards.
So I said there was keltic music… but there was also keltic dancing. A couple boys from my grade got up and did some funny dancing…(I heard that one of them… christopher? got paid 7 dollars to to it) and then got invited onstage for a competition of who got the loudest cheers. Sorry to Justin and…. idk but I think chris got the loudest cheers!
So anyways… that was the World fest and the Wilkenson center. By all means… It was FUN!

   This is a really good book I read, by Anthony Horowitz. It is about a boy who is fourteen years old, and in the beginning, the doorbell wakes him up at about 2:00 in the morning, and two men are there. They tell Alex(that is the kid’s name — Alex Rider) that his uncle died in a car accident, but Alex doesn’t believe that they are telling the truth. He goes to the wrecking yard because that’s where he know they put his uncle’s car, and he finds the car. The windows are covered in bullet holes! But just as Alex finds that out, he hears someone coming, so he hides in the car. Just as the men leave and he is about to get out of the car, it is lifted up and begins to be demolished… with him still in it. He just barely makes it out alive!

    About a week later, he recieves a knock at the door(again!!) some men are there and they want alex to come and talk to them where his Uncle *supposedly* used to work. The next day, he goes to meet them, and they make him wait in a room while they go talk to people but they say that he can’t go into his uncle’s office because it’s off limits. When they leave(to go talk to people) he looks out the window because he knows that his uncle’s office is right next to his room. He swings around the flag pole, and just barely jumps to the window of his office, ( I know, scary, right?? He could have died)and luckily, the window is unlocked. When he gets into the office(finally!) he looks at some files, and one of them says Stormbreaker. He’s trying to figure out what that means but before he can realize what that means, the two guys come in!!(he didn’t realize that they had been watching him the whole time on camera) and they shoot him with something that makes him fall asleep…. he wakes up… and then M16 apparently wants him to be a spy for them.
I’m not gonna spoil it for you guys! You gotta read it yourself!
(WARNING: THOSE WHO DON’T READ THIS WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES BWAHAHAHAHAHA!)

At school, fall break started after last Wednesday and then it ended on sunday. Although I was absent both last Wednesday and Last Monday! I was absent on Monday because there was a HUGE booksale at the HUGE library at the HUGE downtown SLC. All the books there were 25 cents for paperbacks, and 50 cents for hardbacks. I got like 20 books and it only cost me 5 dollars! My mom got a lot of books that she is going to sell at a store called hastings.
Also, Monday was my sister ellas birthday, the 16th was maddies birthday, and my aunt had a baby on sunday!!!!! Her name is Charlotte. Awwwwwwwww………………………
